Depop and Groove Delight

As I am a struggling student, a struggling fashion student with a lot of clothes, I'm doing that classic desperate beg for you to buy my stuff cloaked with the guise of a #whatsinmyshop twee post.

I do actually have some fun stuff in my depop rosie_rebelled, old weird vintage clothes and patches I made years ago and are selling on the cheap.

There's some one of hand embroidered pieces there too that I really enjoy making as well as selling plus the cute bobbly dangly pompom earrings I've been making recently.

Some items, mostly the clothes I cant afford to do international postage as once again, I don't have much money ya get me?

I also wanted to share my little Groove Delight Playlist that I honestly listen to everyday and would totally be my dj playlist if I was down in Ibiza and to also proove that after two years I've finally figured out how to embed codes into posts

How I miss your ranting

I don't have much to say today other than comment on the lack of sleep and stress caused by the end of first year deadlines that are soon approaching so here are my most recent scans of what I'm doing at the moment.

I also have a little playlist of some tunes I've been listening to when I inevitably cant sleep

1. Dancing with myself - cover by The Donnas
2. Lousy Connection - Ezra Furman
3. Everything You've Come to Expect - The Last Shadow Puppets
4. It Ain't About You - Jay Boogie
5. Combat Baby - Metric

Cause I could walk you back to the station talk about our own frustrations

After a chill christmas and a start to 2016 spent dying in my bed due to an intense horrible cold I'm finally back in Bristol and trying to gather together the energy to face uni and work all over again for another term.
I also finally found the pictures on my computer of the Ann Veronica Janssens exhibit me and Niamh visited in London. The exhibit is at The Welcome Collection, called simply yellowbluepink it's described as both 'disorienting and uplifting' and I'm glad I'm not having to review it for real because I feel for whatever poor soul has to because it's utterly indescribable.
After waiting in the queue for half an hour and watching small groups trail into a glowing pink room my expectations were kinda 'ehh'. I'd seen photos from instagrams and thought it looked kinda interesting, maybe a bit of fun running round a smokey room for a bit.
That all changed once you stepped through the first set of doors, pass placed on your chest, watching the baby pink smoke filter through the gaps in the door and took your first steps into that world.
It hits you straight away, a thick smog that is impossible to see through, like when an airplane flies into a cloud and its a special kind of smoke and blank.
The attendants had warned us it was difficult to see and it was normal to feel disoriented and we obviously didn't pay that much attention but honestly it was so hard to see anyone more than a few feet away from you that I felt lost and confused once my friend faded into the fog.

Also my camera was playing up a bit and makes the photos look darker/murkier than it was.

Portraits in the pink

Selfies in yellow (although my camera read it as red/peach)

Blues are still Blue

Video from the Welcome collection website which kind of gives more of an idea of what it was like

I also felt like this song by Lapsley fits the exhibition with its soft overbearing and disorientating feel

middle of the worst season playlist

I'm not going to lie I hate autumn.
I hate the leaves dying I hate the rain I hate getting sweaty from all the layers I have going on because apparently everyone needs to wear gigantic polyester jumpers as soon as it rolls round and I hate pumpkin spice lattes.
I mean I've never tried them but I don't like lattes in general and I only eat pumpkin soup out of respect for Kate Nash and pumpkin pancakes because my mum makes them every holiday.

I don't like autumn because it feels like its closing shop on summer, the sun sets far too quickly and waking up becomes a painful extraction of me from my duvet cocoon. And it's a painfully long interlude between winter and Christmas and snow and snuggling up with blankets and hot chocolate and making Christmas gifts.

So to distract my hatred of autumn I make playlists of pumped up songs that make me forget that the fallen leaves are probably stuck to my boots and I cant wear shirts without vests underneath.
Two fingers up to autumn.

Run Like Me Like Hell Like Everybody Else

It's kind of ironic to be writing a post on running and having a slightly healthier lifestyle when all I've eaten today was pancakes and crisps, the only form of exercise being a punishingly busy walk through ikea, trying to find bed sheets for uni. Today was one of my rest days, which occur have often during the week and correlate to the moody horrible weather which means I can't go for a run in fear of slipping on the pavement. Despite being a lazy lump of bed and socks today I've managed to stick to a pretty good running routine, and while it took a punishingly long time I can actually feel and see the benefits, my legs have never been this strong and I can run a lot longer than 20 seconds without needing to stop for a breather!

All of these songs have featured on my running playlist for the last few sessions and they all have that great thumping deep rhythm that pushes you forward.

While the pavement and parks I run round aren't catwalks and really I'm not going out there with no makeup and unwashed hair to impress someone, I do like planning my running outfit, even if it is to pick out which pair of shorts or huge baggy t-shirt I'm going off in.

runnin swag

runnin swag by utterlyrosie featuring short socks

Shown here in this terrible polyvore is similar, but much more fancy, versions of my usual running attire, a baggy t shirt is a lot better at keeping the sweat away than a tight vest top, also you can show off whatever cool band shirts you own and love enough to sweat in! I like to wear my Vaccines tee or a plain white one to give that cool Freaks and Geeks gym session feel. A pair of short shorts are my favourite, I have a pair of bright red high waisted very 80's soccer mom-esque shorts that are baggy enough to not be booty shorts but still look cute. Running shoes are running shoes and as long as they don't break your ankle they're good to go, I would suggest a pair of socks, cute knee high socks being the best because no.1 they look very cute no.2 you don't have to worry about shaving your legs no.3 if you're embarrassed to be seen running round with red cheeks and a noticeable lack of breath knee socks give that casual 'oh I was just off to football/rugby/lacrosse/other sports practice, catch you later sweet cheeks' look about them.

running inspo

Nadine from the film Little Furniture who is infinitely the more interesting sister and the reason I managed to watch the whole of Lena Dunham's self centered whining for however many minuets the film lasts. (I'm not exactly Dunham's biggest fan if you can guess)

*freaks and geeks*

* Gregory's Girl *
a real Scottish classic that always makes me wish I was a Scottish teen in the 80s and then John Gorgon Sinclair would be a little more age appropriate.

Gyallantines + Northern Soul

Happy Valentines Day!

Or not, depending on your thoughts on the matter. I don't really have any strong thoughts on the holiday as I've never had a valentines (don't cry for me Argentina its alright) it was never a big thing to me and isn't really now. While I don't have a SO in my life I do have this skirt, which is much cuter than any dude could be. I got it in Amsterdam from Episodes, which I'm still obsessed with, for €17 which is like £12 which is ridic because its almost the same as the American Apparel cheerleader skirts but better and less than half the price.
And it vintage and an old timey actual cheerleader probably wore it to practice or under the bleachers.

(What are bleachers? I have no idea I just like the sound of being under one)

My shirt is my Celine Dion (lol) diy shirt and I wore my denim jacket with it as well which made me feel really tumblr.

I also spent Valentines with two Lancaster in gigantic trousers doing high kicks in youth club dance hauls to the sounds of Northern Soul and taking amphetamines and injecting speed in the bathrooms.

In other words I watched Northern Soul at the arts house with my dad and like three other people in the cinema which was such a cool awesome makes-you-wanna-dance-in-parks-at-midnight kinda film.

Which are the best

Also Antonia Thomas, who is my favorite everything has like the best style in the film, she rocks ankle length 1950s style dresses on the dance floor and halter neck everythings.

I also made a list of the songs I listened to on Valentines day that don't make me think about love or relationships or heart shaped cookies or flower bouquets that seem to be everywhere at the moment.
Its sort of a 'nah I'm not bothered, I'd rather party on' to anyone who gives you pity because your alone on valentines.

Visual Inspiration. Wet's Music Video

I mentioned it in my playlist but I just wanted to draw attention to how beautiful the music video for Wet's Don't Wanna Be Your Girl. It's all spangly wonderful woodland nonsense and it makes me want to make home videos of me running through forests and swimming in muddy lakes.

This is more of a visual inspiration board so I would just scroll down and let the visuals wash over you.
